A concern for any new mother is baby feeding. There are a myriad of baby feeding questions that need to be answered before your little one arrives, or begins to bottle feed. The goal of the potty chair is to ultimately wean your child off of the diaper and put them squarely on the toilet. They are fairly tall because our adult legs are tall and they are fairly wide because (yeah, you know it too) our adult butts are pretty wide. A toddler under the age of four isn’t going to have the body mass (or shouldn’t have the body mass anyway) of an adult and will have a hard time both climbing up on the toilet and sitting comfortably once there.

Potty chairs solve the problem of size by shrinking the toilet down to child size. You can get potty chairs that sit next to the toilet on the floor of the bathroom or you can buy ones that come with step stools and sit on top of the toilet. They allow your child to sit comfortably while they use the bathroom. If I had to choose I would always go with the ones that attach to the actual toilets though. There is nothing worse than a messy room. Toys that are thrown all over the floor, stacked up in closets, and strewn all over the bed are not only awful to look at but they can be pretty dangerous too. Those toys get expensive with all of their little plastic parts and bells and whistles and it really hurts when you step on one in the dark only to find the next day that you snapped it in half. A wooden toy chest will really bring together a child’s room and give it that innocent and fun look we all know and love. Potty training your child is difficult. There is no way around it.
