Everyone’s got a whole heap of things they need to do each day. Leapster is a handheld gaming system (like a Gameboy) made for children ages 4-10 years old. This is a product of Leap Frog- an industry leading educational toy company.

There are two generations of the Leapster gaming system, Leapster and Leapster 2. There are dozens of different games available for each system that are categorized by target age and learning concepts. In addition, there are different colors and themes for gaming systems such as the Princess edition.

Alphabet, phonics, basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), and art and animal facts are the variety skills that may be included in each Leapster game.

One of the most popular Leapster games is Kindergarten. This game teaches 45 essential reading and math skills including: phonics, rhyming, spelling, upper/lower case letters, math terms, numbers & counting, and logic.

Leapster has done a great job of taking characters and concepts that are familiar and fun to children and turning them into valuable educational games.
